Pathophysiology and Clinical Management of Alcoholic Liver Disease
Dear friends and colleagues,
It is our great pleasure to invite you to the Symposium 227 preceding the 37th Annual Meeting of the GASL. We are very confident that current progress in vaccination against the COVID-19 virus will make it possible again to execute both events as presence meetings with real personal exchange that we all currently miss so much. However, we continue to closely monitor the worldwide impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on large events. We can assure you that we will comply with all health and safety regulations in place at the time the event is scheduled.
Alcoholic Liver Disease (ALD) – throughout decades due to the label of self-inflictiona neglected disease and heavily underfunded clinical research entity. Aiming to (re)sensitize to the strong need for an academic and clinical focus on ALD, we set up the following program:
Thursday: January 27, 2022
Session I: Liver damage and disease initiation
Session II: Fibrosis and disease progression to cirrhosis
Friday, January 28, 2022
Session III: Inflammatory phenotyping and moecular profiling
Session IV: Alcoholic hepatitis, liver failure and systemic disturbance
We very much look forward to welcoming you to our event in the Mannheim castle.
GASL President 2021/2022
with Jonel Trebicka and Sebastian Mueller
Please note that the event will take place according to the current safety and hygiene guidelines based on the relevant regulations of the State of Baden-Württemberg (in particular the "Coronavirus Protection Ordinance") and on the requirements of the health authorities of the City of Mannheim.
