Symposium: Liver Transplantation Meets Cancer

The focus of this two-day symposium is the question under which circumstances liver cancer can be treated by transplantation.

On Thursday, the sessions will address the pathophysiological and biochemical requirements for the development of liver cancer - fundamentally and with regard to current scientific findings. The role of inflammation, cell death, chemokines, bile acids, extracellular vesicles and immune modulation is discussed.

Friday is about screening, diagnosis and analysis of liver cancers. Finally, our speakers will present the perspectives and challenges of liver transplantation in the context of cancer therapy.
